Refugee

This beautiful Tiger Jersey moth stood out to me in its bittersweet connotations. Sweet, as it is a symbol of resilience and change because it is a non-native moth that has naturally become part of the English ecosystem. Bitter, as it is a clear signifier of global temperatures rising and population displacement. I also felt that the shadow shrouding the moth emphasised well the rapidly declining insect population over the past few decades, and how crucial it is take action for these amazing creatures.
