I rescued this newt from a underground car park in Chiswick Business Park, each spring I go down to the Business Park to rescue stranded newts and toads that have tried to find their way to the lake in spring.

The common (not so boring) frog

Gardening admist the fragrant tapestry of lavender, a common frog jumped right under.
Common in name and number, but not in awe and wonder.
360 million years on Earth, it can breathe through lungs and skin.
With porous epidermis, oxygen diffuses in.
Ranging in colour – from greys and greens, to yellows and brown.
Keep an eye out for it when Spring comes to town.

Greenwashing

We recently installed a new small pond in the allotment. I’m delighted to find that a family of frogs has moved in! Today I saw this lovely frog chilling. (David Shaked)
